We teach college and high school students about the important role media tools can play in creating positive social change. It is an academic program, and it is hands-on production. We work with journalists to learn strong production skills, and also work with politicos to teach students how to make media projects that have real impacts.

But really, we should let the students' work do the talking:

For the past four summers we have hosted smart and optimistic college students for a summer documentary program in Portland, Oregon and taught them how to make professional-quality audio and film documentaries about social issues. Based on those successes, we have expanded our programming to include:

A second summer program in Minnesota teaching how to produce radio documentaries, and about the role that music plays in social change

A film festival for students to showcase successful sustainability projects on their campuses

And, a TV show for teenage girls to articulate their voices and issues through film and media
